Have you ever watched or read about Titanic? Have you ever wondered what relics they found from the wreckage? How the water affected the items? How cold the water would have felt?
Now your questions can be answered by visiting the Imagination Station in Toledo Ohio between now and June 15, 2014!!
The Titanic Artifact Exhibition is a must see! Being able to see those items close up really made the movie and story come alive. There are over 150 artifacts in this exhibit.
When you arrive at the Imagination Station and purchase your tickets for the exhibit, you will be able to pick what time you would like to visit the exhibit during your visit. We were recommended to consider visiting earlier in the day as the traffic was lighter so we chose the tour at 10:45.
After you turn in your tickets, you will be given a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger who was aboard the Titanic.
Once you start your personal walking tour (no guides so you have time to read at your own pace). You will learn about the ship’s construction, to the people, to that fateful night and how they have recovered the artifacts.
Then you are able to actually touch an iceberg. That will take you back for a moment as you can only imagine how cold that water was that night.
One of the things that has stayed with us was how certain things were preserved and others were not. Like for example, there was a pair of men’s shoes that still look in really good condition. There was money that was recovered. Some of the dishes still were intact whereas some cookware was really affected by the iron in the water.
Throughout your tour, you will be able to read some of the personal stories of the passengers and crew of the ship.
Then at the end of the tour, in the Memorial Gallery, you will take your boarding pass to the memorial wall to see if that passenger and their companions lived or died.
At the end of the tour, there is a Titanic gift shop so you can pick up a few mementos of your visit.
Tickets prices are as follows:
Big Kids (13 – 64): $19.50
Seniors (65+): $17.50
