While we were on vacation, I suggested to my husband that we stop at IKEA as we would literally be driving past it on I-75.
At first he was like “isn’t that a furniture store?” “Why do you want to go there?” “We need to stop somewhere for lunch first”.
I told him we could eat lunch there (he didn’t believe you could eat there), spend a few minutes walking around, then we could head to our hotel.
He reluctantly agreed so we took the exit and went to IKEA.

First let’s talk about The IKEA Restaurant. Two words describe their restaurant. Affordable and Good. They had highchairs available plus bibs for the littles (if needed) microwaves so you could warm up baby food and a play area. The kids meals were $1.99 the day we were there and our meals were $5.99 each. On the bottom level of IKEA, you can purchase the food they were serving in the restaurant so you could prepare it at home. You can also purchase everything you saw in the restaurant (decor wise) as well as the utensils and dishes on the lower level. Talk about trying products out before you made your purchase.
Something my oldest found neat about the restaurant were the food tray carts. You can put your trays of food onto the cart then wheel them to your table.
After lunch, we decided to check out the top floor since that is where the restaurant was.
We strted walking around and checking out the Childrens toys area (love that the kids can play with what they see for sale) and then all of the displays and goodies just kept going! We never imagined it was so big and had such a variety! Halfway through the top level, my husband out of the blue replied, “I am very impressed. I never knew IKEA offered so much and is so affordable!”
When you first enter the store, there are pencils, tape measures, paper, store maps, catalogs, carts, bags and strollers. Of course when we first started walking around, we carried a few things ourselves. Half way through we picked up a bag then we ended up with a cart full!
The finished showrooms througout the store were really cool and very inspriing!
After spending over an hour getting ideas we decided it was time to go downstairs to shop the marketplace. So after spending another hour down there, we decided it was time to checkout. Of course walking to the checkout, we came across some other terrific deals!
When we are ready to finish our basement, we will be making a trip back to IKEA as they had the perfect office/craft room display! I abosolutely loved it!!
Once we were in our vehicle, my husband replied, “I’m really glad we stopped there! I am very impressed and we will definitely be back!”. Music to my ears!!!
