You may think the author doesn’t know what she is talking about but she does, all too well. After being married for two years and 8 months pregnant, her husband told her he was having an affair and it was over. Imagine being hit with that news while you were pregnant!
This book is a terrific book to read if you are going through a breakup. Her theology is simple. “He Did You a Favor”. That really is the perfect summary! If he acts like this, would you want to be married to him?
There are actual stories in the book from others who have been there and share their experiences as well.
I can remember being dumped by my college boyfriend, on my birthday no less. I was devastated on multiple levels. I mean how can you celebrate any future birthdays when you can remember being dumped? We had been talking about getting engaged. He used the classic, “He wanted to spend more time with his friends (which by the way two of them were girls)”. He would get upset with me when I got livid when he canceled our plans so he could hang with his “friends” after work. What girlfriend would be ok with their boyfriend going out after work with two “friends” who were both girls! And sometimes after they would get off of work, they would go back to one’ of the girl’s apartments to play cards. Really??? Finally after alot of
self pity parties and tears and some unplanned weight loss, one day several months later, when I wasn’t looking I met an incredibly good looking guy who I’ve now been married to for over 20 years.
This is a great book for actually all women to read. Even if you haven’t recently had a break up, it’s a great read! She has some great advice for all women and men. It never hurts in life to discover the “Gift of YOU”!!
