*We had decided to stay at the Drury Inn & Suites and inquired if they had any media discounts. We received a gift certificate to use towards our total room charge. All opinions are our own and not influenced in anyway*
Once we had decided to make our Spring Break destination the state of Illinois, we contacted some friends of ours to see if they would be around for a few days and once we knew they would be home, we planned the remainder of our trip in the St. Louis area.
My husband has been to St. Louis and has visited the Arch before, however, my daughters and myself had never been there.
Once we had our destinations planned out, I started looking for lodging ideas. When I am looking for a hotel or condo to stay in on our vacations, I always look on Trip Advisor to see what the top hotels are in that area. Then I look at the area’s CVB website to see what lodging they recommend. Finally I look to see if there are any blogger reviews on the hotel.
After doing my research, we decided to stay at the Drury Inn & Suites in O’Fallon IL. O’Fallon is right outside of St. Louis and close to our friends so this was the perfect hotel for us.
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were promptly greeted by the Front Desk. Chris confirmed the details of our reservation and was very friendly. The first impression of the hotel lobby area was it was tastefully decorated, clean and the very fragrant smell of popcorn (that is free for guests) waffled through the air. Once we got our room keys, we loaded up the luggage rack and went to our room.
Once in our room, we found our room to be very clean and properly stocked for our visit. We had a mini refrigerator (a must have) and a microwave. We had the normal amenities of a hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, dresser drawers, flat screen tv, wifi (which was free), a desk and reclining chair. Here are some pictures of our room:
This was the first hotel we have ever stayed in that had the Shower Gel/Shampoo/Conditioner in one large dispenser! This is such a great idea! That way you didn’t have to worry about running out and they don’t have all of the plastic to recycle after the guests use the products.
If you look closely at the last picture, that was the view outside of our room! Yes, that is a STARBUCKS!!! I only stopped there once….uh ok…a few times!
Here are some pictures of the hotel lobby and the breakfast/dinner area:
In addition to the free popcorn that was available in the lobby, there were also free soft drinks available to the hotel guests. Drury Hotels definitely has the “Extras aren’t Extra” down pat! For families who are traveling, this is a great value! And for business people who are traveling, this would be convenient to just grab your meal, eat and go on about your day/evening.
The pool and hot tub area was busy each night we were there. The housekeeping staff will only clean your room the fourth day you are there, however, they will provide you with extra towels throughout your stay.
We can’t say enough about our stay at Drury Inn & Suites. The hotel was clean, the food was hot and fresh, the food was kept stocked, the eating area was kept clean through both meals and the atmosphere in the dining area was always pleasant and they had plenty of room for all of the guests.
The hot breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, gravy, biscuits, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, muffins, orange juice, fresh fruit, coffee and milk. The hot dinner at Kickback had chicken tenders, mac and cheese, nachos, salad and all of the typical salad bar fixings and hot soups and hot dogs.
After we got freshened up, we went downstairs to the lobby to check out all of the amenities the hotel had. They had a indoor pool/hot tub, fitness room, guest pantry, FREE hot breakfast in the mornings AND FREE Kickback in the evenings from 5:30 – 7:00 pm which includes hot food AND for adults 21 & over, three FREE adult beverages per evening.
When planning your next trip, see if there is a Drury Inn & Suites. You will be pleasantly surprised at the value and the fact that the extras are included!
Another bonus for this hotel is that across the main highway, there is a TARGET! So if you forgot anything or just need a quick shopping trip to Target (Moms you know what I’m talking about), it is very convenient! There are also many restaurants and other stores in the plaza across the main highway.
We received a discount towards the total cost of our room. All opinions are our own and not influenced in any way. Thank you to Drury Inns & Suites! We had a very comfortable stay and look forward to staying there again the next time we visit St. Louis!
