It’s the moment we all look forward to! You open your mailbox and discover a sales flyer from a store at your local mall! You excitedly open the flyer and see the word, “coupon” then “$10 off your purchase”! Euphoria sets in and heartache is the furthest thing on your mind!
Your pulse quickens as you see the words “must spend a minimum of $20”. That’s ok because you know that would be easy to do and let’s face it, $20 worth of merchandise for $10 is awesome! It’s a Mommy who loves shopping moment of euphoria.
Then as you read all of the restrictions, the euphoria you just had slowly fades away! You see the words: EXCLUDES: Bonus Buys, Door Busters, Incredible Values, Yellow Dot/Black Dot, Clearance Center, Toys, Tech, Candy, Jewelry, Watches, Furniture, case-related merchandise, personal care items, Kitchen items, Floor care items, and it ALSO excludes ALL brand name items!
So essentially it excludes almost everything in the store unless it’s a non brand name item that isn’t on sale! You are deflated and heartache begins!
That coupon then soon joins the recycle pile as you know the coupon is basically no good and you won’t be using it.
Ever had a moment like that? I just went through that when I got our mail today. Major bummer! It was going to be my reason to got to the mall this week! Oh well. I didn’t need to go shopping anyway!
