Welcome to our first day of “30 Days of Romantic Getaways”!
Our first Romantic Getaway destination is to the beautiful and sunny state of Florida!
Have you ever been to the Bradenton, Anna Marie Island or LongBoat Key in Florida? We have never been there but it is definitely on our bucket list!
The Bradenton Area (Bradenton/Anna Maria Island/Longboat Key) provides the perfect setting for:
Destination Weddings. There are many reasons why the Bradenton Area is the wedding capital of Florida’s west coast, including: its post-card-perfect, seaside-wedding options along miles of uninterrupted shoreline including the Sandbar Restaurant in Anna Maria, its breathtaking historic venues such as the Powel Crosley Estate or its romantic and eclectic vineyard settings like BunkerHill Winery.
Honeymoons. For those looking for a secluded spot to getaway after the big day, the Bradenton Area is a popular choice. Here couples can take advantage of white sand, Florida’s impeccable weather and sunsets (even in February!), top romantic dining options and quiet beaches.
Baby Moons. Many couples with a bundle of joy on the way will want to enjoy some R&R before the stork arrives and the Bradenton Area is a top option. Whether it’s a romantic candlelight dinner at one of the area’s intimate (and delicious) restaurants, sunset on the beach, or exploring the area’s art and culture scene, all soon-to-be moms and dads could use a weekend getaway before life gets a little more chaotic.
Below are a few options to enhance your romantic visit to the Bradenton Area:
Bed & Breakfasts. Between the mainland and islands, the Bradenton Area offers many incomparable bed and breakfast options. Enjoy the waterfront views from The Harrington House on Anna Maria Island where island bungalows are a short walk to the beach and the breakfast selection changes daily. The Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast is located on the north bank of the Manatee River, represents Old Florida’s charm and appears on the “National Register of Historic Places”.
Local Vineyards. Tour the Rosa Fiorelli Winery in the rolling hills of Bradenton, or the Bunker Hill Vineyard and Winery. Both wineries are family-owned and tucked away in Manatee County. Treat your love to wine tasting and hors d’oeuvre while walking through the vineyard hand and hand.
Soft Adventures. Consider renting a kayak, canoe or powerboat, parasailing or even horse surfing as a couple for a little outdoor recreation. Soak up the Florida sunshine with an afternoon in the pristine gulf waters.
Romantic Dining. – The Bradenton Area boasts some of the country’s top-rated restaurants. Beach Bistro on Anna Maria Island is consistently awarded the highest ZAGAT scores in the state and offers a very intimate setting with ocean views. The epicurean Euphemia Haye on Longboat Key is also a top choice for both dinner and a delicious Valentine’s treat! Those seeking the quintessential Florida dining experience should look no further than the Sandbar Restaurant, located right on the sands of Anna Maria Island. Sunset picnics are another romantic island dining option.
Pine Avenue on Anna Maria Island. Home to many shops, boutiques and cafes, and the Community Edible Gardens, on Pine Avenue couples can enjoy a stroll along the “Greenest Little Main Street in America” and pop into the many adorable stores and restaurants.
Village of the Arts. This vibrant community of artists living and working together is Florida’s largest art community with over 30 businesses calling the Village home. Galleries, studios, cafes, healing arts, jewelry, fashion and books can all be found as you wander the streets of this charming area of restored 1920’s and 30’s cottages. Amble through the cottages for a sense of art and culture during your visit to the Bradenton Area.
