*We received GlobeIn’s August Subscription Box for our review. All opinions are our own*
Have you heard about GlobeIn-“globe in a box” ? Until a few weeks ago, I had never heard about this subscription box.
GlobeIn-“globe in a box” is a monthly subscription of artisan made products from around the world, which additionally offers direct shopping to some of the finest hand-made Fair Trade products in all categories.
For the month of August, the theme of the box is Laundry! Laundry is something everyone must do at one time in their lives (or throughout their lives). This theme actually was the perfect them for the month of August considering it’s Back to School time AND the first year of College for many! The process of doing laundry for the first time away from home can often be a daunting one for college freshmen. However, with GlobeIn: August Subscription Box – Laundry, your collegiate can saunter gleefully, and functionally, to the laundromat, basement, riverbank, or wherever it is their laundry journey takes them!
The box includes a curated selection of Laundry essentials, including Wool Dryer Balls, ($15, for a set of 3), created by the Altyn Kol Women’s Cooperative in Kyrgyzstan, where wool is a way of life. Many of the women began crafting with wool to make shyrdaks, a traditional felt carpet. GlobeIn decided to approach the cooperative with a new wool challenge—dryer balls, loved by many Westerners as an alternative to chemical-laden dryer sheets. The women, most having never used a dryer before, marveled at the balls, and took great pride in the new crafting challenge.
Prior to this post, I received a box that contained the Wool Dryer Balls which were created by the Altyn Kol Women’s Cooperative in Kyrgyzstan.
As my home’s, “Queen of the Laundry Room”, I love discovering products that work and are chemical free. I have done several loads of laundry since I got the Wool Dryer Balls, including sheets and blankets. I love how the Wool Dryer Balls really do work! I added lavender essential oil to one of the balls and use that when I wash our sheets. I love the hint of lavender that is infused into the sheets. My clothes have came out less wrinkled. Another reason I really like the Wool Dryer Balls is the fact they were made by hand by crafted artisans. I have been fortunate enough to travel overseas twice and actually see artisans crafting very unique items. They truly put their heart and soul into the items they are making.
I know there are hundreds of various Subscription Boxes out there, but occasionally one will come out that actually stands above the others. GlobeIn is one that stands above the rest.
