Sometimes in life, when on vacation, you have to get away from the traffic, the noise, the stoplights, the hustle and bustle and go off of the beaten path.
You need to go out of town, up narrow and winding roads, where chains and four wheel drives are needed if it snow. Once you get to the top, you have found the “Essence of the Smokies”!
For our multi-family trip over Spring Break, our group chose to head to Pigeon Forge. We wanted to find a location where we all could stay in the same place so the kids could play together and we could visit. For this trip, a hotel wouldn’t work. We looked at condos and cabins. Once we discovered Hearthside Cabin Rentals, we knew this would be perfect for our trip!
We stayed in the cabin called, “Essence of the Smokies”. Upon walking into the cabin, we knew this would be perfect! Before settling in, we started our exploration of the cabin. This is what greeted us:
Our Living Room for the week
Our view
Our Kitchen!
One of the bedrooms – this is the one we stayed in
Did I mention our cabin had a Jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms? It was in the bathroom we had!
This was the bathroom that was attached to our room
Did I mention we had a washer/dryer?
Pool anyone?
To see more photos of our cabin, you can go to website for the Essence of the Smokies by clicking here. Our cabin had three bedrooms and each had a King bed plus a full bath. The room we stayed in had a separate loft area that had futon mattresses. My oldest loved the loft. It gave her a break from the three five year olds at night! There was also a foosball table in our room.
Our cabin had three levels so each family had their own level and deck. On the bottom level there was an air hockey table and pool table.
All of the families simply adored our cabin! It was spotless, rustic, well equipped, offered fantastic views and we had a seamless check in progress. The Dads were hoping to see a bear outside of our cabin, but unfortunately they didn’t see one. Just remember, don’t go walking trying to find the bears! They will out run you!
If you are looking for a place to get away, relax, unplug (the cabin did have Wi-Fi and cable), and get close to nature, then the Hearthside Cabin Rentals, especially the Essence of the Smokies, is the place for you to stay on your next trip to Pigeon Forge!

The cabin looks so nice. My family needs larger accommodations because there’s 5 of us. The view is amazing.
