I recently received a complimentary copy of the book, “After Anna” by Alex Lake for our review. All opinions are our own and not influenced in any way.
The main character in this book is Julia, who is divorced and a Mom to Anna who is 5. The unthinkable happens one day when she goes to pick up Anna from school. She’s not there, which is every parents nightmare.
Panic sets in and you are taken through those long haunting days for Julia until her daughter is suddenly returned!
One would think that is bad enough, however, the nightmare for Julia has just begun!
I waffled back and forth until the end of who had kidnapped Anna. I wasn’t expecting the ending whatsoever and I admit it kinda freaked me out!
If you are looking for a Summer read, then this will be a good book for you to check out!

The real nightmare starts when her daughter is returned…
A bone-chilling psychological thriller that will suit fans of Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn, Daughter, by Jane Shemilt, and The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins.
A girl is missing. Five years old, taken from outside her school. She has vanished, traceless.
The police are at a loss; her parents are beyond grief. Their daughter is lost forever, perhaps dead, perhaps enslaved.
But the biggest mystery is yet to come: one week after she was abducted, their daughter is returned.
She has no memory of where she has been. And this, for her mother, is just the beginning of the nightmare.
