Even though we had already made a Sensory Bottle for March, with this being the opening weekend for Beauty And The Beast, we just had to make a Beauty And The Beast Sensory Bottle!
I didn’t tell my youngest which bottle we were making at first. She say the yellow and red beads and exclaimed, “BELLE”! Yep, we picked the colors to represent Belle and Beast!
For our Beauty And The Beast Sensory Bottle we used the smaller VOSS Sparkling water bottles. You don’t have to use the VOSS bottles. You can use any glass or plastic water bottle. It’s totally up to you. I really like the look of the VOSS bottle. If you do decide to use a VOSS bottle, just a heads up; they are heavy! If you have a younger child, you will definitely want to help them hold it. In the case of younger children, you may just want to elect to make it out of a plastic bottle. We found the bottles at a local organic food store. You can save a trip there and order them directly from Amazon and have them delivered right to your door by clicking here.
To make the bottle like we did, you will need the following:
- VOSS water bottle (I used glass but you can use plastic)
- Clear Glue or Glitter Glue
- Red Beads – the ones you use are up to you. **Pro-tip: A lot of craft stores have them on clearance a lot. Stock up so you always have them on hand!
- Hot glue gun if you want to seal the lid
- Yellow ribbon – the size depends on what you want. I used 3/16″
- Rose accents *Again there are so many varieties of these.
Once you have all of your supplies ready to go, remove label from the water bottle (if you are using a plastic bottle). Dump out about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of the water. Then add your gems in.
Then add in your glitter, sequins and glue
Put the lid on and shake the bottle. If you are using glitter glue, be prepared that the water will be cloudy compared to using clear glue and adding glitter.
If you want to keep your bottle as a Beauty And The Beast Sensory Bottle, then hot glue the lid on. The lid won’t be set until 24 hours later so be careful turning it upside down until after then. If you want to reuse it, then don’t seal the bottle.
