The Hybrids Family Movie Review
In October, Vision Films released a comedy about a dysfunctional family called The Hybrids Family. This family isn’t your typical dysfunctional family (come on admit it, everyone has one…no one is perfect LOL). This family is full of vampires and witches! Did I mention it’s family friendly?!
As a Mom of a teen, I am always very careful about what movies she watches. I know I can’t protect her forever, however, when I find movies that are ok for her and they are ones we can watch together, that is something worth celebrating!
In The Hybrids Family, you are introduced to siblings Blaz and Velana and their parents, Todor, a vampire and Valantina, a witch. They have a secret…they are the world’s first vampire/witch hybrids!! The parents have kept them hidden away for years.
Recipient of the Dove Foundation seal of approval, “The Hybrids Family” is a fun and comedic story for the whole family this Halloween that offers a positive message about the importance of family connection and cross-cultural acceptance.
Director Tony Randel says: “The script for The Hybrids Family came to me at the exact time I was learning to say goodbye to my children’s childhood and send them off to college and their futures. It’s a melancholy, bittersweet moment for any parent but one that needs to be met gracefully as children leave their youth and embrace their hopeful futures. This is the story I wanted to tell.”
Managing Director / CEO of Vision Films Lise Romanoff says: “Vampire, witches and warlocks—oh my! Perfect for young viewers who want to experience a fantasy world that speaks to their own real-life challenges in a meaningful, entertaining way. And perfect for parents looking for upbeat appropriate films to watch with the whole family.”
The Hybrids Family stars:
Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Carolyn Hennesy (True Blood, Revenge), Mojean Aria (The Bronx Bull), Leanne Agmon (Blue Bloods) and Anne Leighton (Grimm) and was directed by Tony Randel (Beyond Belief, Hellbound: Hellraiser II). It was written by Tony Schweikle and produced by Peter HAS III Inc. and Anthony Entertainment.
This was a really neat movie! I loved some of the lines from the show! Such as: “She’s always been anti-vampire”, “Centuries come and centuries go”.
However, my favorite saying from the movie really stuck with me and that was by The Count. He said, “Family is the greatest fortune a person can have”. Stop and think about that for a minute. That saying is so true! To me, I am very rich as I have a pretty terrific family.
“The Hybrids Family” was released on DVD and VOD on October 4th 2016.
